Gough's Cave

Cave-earth and Breccia

Site: 23; Horizon: 23

Fluvial silt and fine gravel up to 4.3 m thick filling the entrance to the cave. Most of the unit was excavated in "spits" (layers) that were 6 inches thick numbered consecutively from top to bottom. Upper Palaeolithic artefacts were recorded from spits 4 through 25.
